High School Student with Master Tech Dreams gets 4Rivers Experience

Gabriela “Gaby” Yanez, a high school senior at Horizon High School and current student at FutureForward at Washington Square, has set her sights on becoming a master technician at 4Rivers Equipment one day. This high school student has a clear vision of her future. When she spoke about her future plans at an awards event with her softball team, the local 4Rivers crew knew they had a wonderful opportunity to give her an inside look at her dreams.
“My goal as a diesel tech is to work here,” Gaby says. “It started off with working with my dad on cars, and then I went into semis. But I think heavy equipment is a little bit more interesting than just semis.”
Gaby, a dedicated high school student, came to the Commerce City 4Rivers Equipment location in April to get an inside look. She was introduced to management, the sales crew, the parts staff, and a number of Commerce City’s amazing technicians. Gaby’s smile lit up every room she walked into. After touring the entire facility, she was given the opportunity to operate a few pieces of machinery in the yard. Her passion for heavy machinery was absolutely undeniable.
“It just seems like such a nice place. I actually got to work on some of the equipment and I got to play with dirt,” she says, laughing. “I just want to learn everything and expand my horizons.”
Huge shoutouts to Aspen Broersma and Jenny Douglass who put together an amazing experience for this young tech-in-training. Also a big thank-you to Gaby for spending some time with us! This ambitious high school student makes us excited for the future. We wish you all the best in your future and hope to see those dreams come true!
